Il Boscaiolo is a confortable holiday farm situated high in the Appennines of Pesaro province, where the Marches meet Umbria. It stands on a hill about 700 metres above sea level near the village of Apecchio. The surrounding countryside is rather special with green wood, majestic mountains and pure cool air. in season it’s possible to go gathering mushrooms, wild fruits, and truffles (guidedby the owner, who is an expert truffle hunter, and helped by dogs trained to find this precious tuber). The large sixteenth century stone farmhouse (open all the year) was probably built by Benedectine monks from the nearby Abbey of Scalocchio. For those interested in art "il Boscaiolo" is a good base for visiting centres of Renaissance and for following the "Piero della Francesca Trail". Urbino, Perugia, Sansepolcro, Monterchi, Arezzo, are within easy reach.
